The Team Behind Brucewood

VFW BRUCEWOOD LLC

VFW Brucewood LLC is led by Dmitry Baskin. Dmitry holds a Master’s degree in Real Estate Development from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and an MBA from the University of Miami (UM). In his 25+ years in the construction and real estate development industry, Dmitry has accumulated extensive experience across the built-environment spectrum. His early career was focused in the construction industry building marque projects from luxury hi-rise buildings to complicated multi-faceted infrastructure projects. Dmitry has always been on the forefront of energy and environmental design and development with his involvement in LEED Certified hi-rise residential development in Kendall Square, Cambridge, mid-rise development in Central Square, Cambridge, award winning low-rise development in Allston and historical mill restorations in Lawrence.

Dmitry has challenged his team to bring the concepts of energy and environmental conscious design and development to the scale and appropriateness for single family homes. Brucewood Homes, in their forward-thinking Passive House design, embodies these concepts seamlessly and will certainly be the future of home building!

OPAL-logo_REVISED.png

OPAL was founded in 2005, as the architecture half of the groundbreaking design/build company GO Logic, and launched as an independent architecture firm in 2019. Based in Belfast, on the coast of Maine, we maintain an unwavering focus on design excellence while continually striving to achieve the highest standards of building performance and occupant comfort and well-being.

Alone among our professional peers, we design buildings exclusively following Passive House principals. We established our leadership role in the Passive House movement in North America with a string of landmark projects, including the first Passive House certified residence in Maine, the first Passive House certified college residence hall (for Unity College, in Unity, ME), and the first Passive House certified research laboratory (for the University of Chicago).
